Ahern Rentals is looking for an Application Support - Tier 1 position in our IT Department that is responsible to support the employees in multi entities with multiple IT system needs.  The person in this position should be able to work in a large scale, fast paced and cross-functional team environment and also work independently with little supervision. This is an exempt level position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Experience with a Ticket Management System and the ability to know when to escalate issues to a next level of experience
  • Delivery, and performance and capacity monitoring and reporting
  • Data Entry of all New Hired, Transferred and Termed Employees
  • Monitor Help Desk Activity Boards and identify and communicate status changes
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
  • Providing first level contact and convey resolutions to customer issues
  • Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support
  • Participate in 24 x 7 On-Call week long rotation as scheduled
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve problems
  • Additional duties/assignments as assigned and prioritized by management
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

  • 1+ years of experience working in a technical role in a large enterprise environment, including knowledge of enterprise
  • 1+ years of experience working with an AS400 run system
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows 7 - 10
  • 1+ years of Customer Service
  • 2+ years of rental and/or dealer equipment industry experience
  • Possess communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Deliver excellent customer service skills including patience, tact and empathy
  • Ability and desire to problem solve and willingness for continuous learning
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays including on call duty
  • Ability to multitask with propensity to handle urgent interruptions with poise and professionalism
  • Organized and detail oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to execute assignments within established timeframes and quality standards, while responding to immediate needs
  • High School Diploma / A+ Certification, Network+ Certification and  4 year college degree in IT/Computer Science a plus
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to pass drug test and background check
  • Must be able to provide Motor Vehicle Record at time of job offer (current within 15 days)
