Ahern Companies is seeking a highly motivated Copywriter to join our hard-working marketing team. Ahern Companies focuses on the construction, agriculture and hospitality sector and specializes in equipment rental, sales and manufacturing.


The Copywriter will working closely with other copywriter and collaborate with other creative team members to develop high quality, engaging and targeted marketing collateral to support the brand marketing plans. 


The Copywriter will be responsible for developing written content for print and digital advertisements, sales materials, social media, press releases, etc. The ideal candidate is sharp, patient and agile; demonstrates strong follow-through; and is open to feedback for improvement.



  • Write engaging and persuasive copy for advertisements, brochures, presentations, speeches, video scripts, radio spots, websites and other promotional efforts.
  • Develop appropriate taglines to support marketing campaigns and brand development.
  • Research the technical aspects of products, and determine key selling points to create clear, accurate and effective marketing copy.
  • Write press releases and other media communications and be able to liase with and solicit media opportunities with editors and media contacts.
  • Contribute to promotional strategies for PR, trade shows and events, etc.
  • Develop original content for social media marketing.
  • Manage multiple social media accounts, calendar and analytics.
  • Revise, edit and proofread content as necessary, taking direction from various stakeholders, including sales, engineering, legal and executives.
  • Ensure originality of content, including trademark checks and research across the competitive marketplace.
  • Adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Ensure spelling and grammatical accuracy in all content.
  • Meet editorial deadlines without compromising results.
  • Respond to feedback in a timely manner.



  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Background in print, digital and social media marketing.
  • Ideally experienced in writing technical descriptions and developing point of sale materials for business-to-business marketing.
  • Knowledge of public relations, can prepare and distribute press releases.
  • Familiar with social media marketing for LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using Hootsuite or other social media scheduling tools.
  • Able to translate a marketing brief and generate multiple ideas that are in line with the brand goals, and develop those ideas into effective campaigns and taglines.
  • Interested in popular culture and able to draw on relevant external influences to connect with the target audience.
  • Work well within a diversified creative team and maintain open communication with senior management.
  • Strong written skills, including spelling and grammar, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to think creatively and strategically.
  • Strong work ethic, inquisitive, takes initiative and can work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
