Ahern Rentals is looking for a Security Technician. Ahern Rentals depends on our Security staff to secure its assets effectively and safely. Under general supervision, technicians perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance, installation, repair and servicing of CCTV, Burglar Alarm, Access Control, and. computernetworking.

Qualifications for Security Technician:

· Valid Driver's License.

· Understanding of equipment and safety regulations pertaining to the work performed.

· Previous Installation & Troubleshooting experience with CCTV & Burglar Alarm Systems.

· Experience installing CAT 5/6 cable.

· Programming abilities with DSC, Genetec, Vivotek a plus.

· Basic Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP protocol.

· Knowledge and programming of various DVR/NVR types.

· Commitment to Company values.

· Good communication skills.

· Ability to work with limited supervision.

· Identify and implement effective courses of action to complete assigned work.

· Exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.

· Apply concepts of basic electricity.

· Apply concepts of basic electronics component theory and alarm systems operations.

· Able to travel.

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of work.

Responsibilities for Security Technician include but not limited to:

· Install CCTV systems, burglar alarm, and Access Controls.

· Perform preventative and regular maintenance.

· Troubleshoot and repair equipment.

· Design and install low voltage wiring systems.

· Operate central monitoring station equipment.

· Perform administrative office duties.

· Oversee sub-contractors and other employees.

· Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

· Responds to emergency situations as necessary.

· May assist in training or instructing others.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate equipment and tools. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information, and documents, analyze and solve problems; observe and interpret situations; deal with changing; intensive deadlines.

Work Environment:

The employee frequently works inside tight crawl spaces and regularly work on buildings that are 10 ft or higher and uneven surfaces. The employee is occasionally exposed to inclement weather prevalent at the time and fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment may occasionally be loud. The employee will regularly be required to work from high-reach equipment and ladders.
