Ahern Rentals is looking for a Service Writer Administrator to prepare repair orders, estimate costs and work as a liaison between customers and the shop while assisting the Service Manager.

Qualifications for Service Writer Administrator:

  • 2 years previous Service Writer Administrator experience
  • Previous rental experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel
  • Must be able to provide Motor Vehicle Record at the time of job offer (current within 15 days)

Duties and Responsibilities for Service Writer Administrator include but not limited to:

  • Prepares repair orders by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required
  • Develop estimates for materials, labor, and supplies, calculate customer payment including deductible
  • Communicate all necessary information (costs, “promise date”, etc.) to customers, technicians, managers and Risk Management
  • Ensure completion of work orders and invoice submission
  • Oversee paint shop and maintain emission logs
  • Various administrative duties. Must maintain accurate files and log books
  • Perform other duties as assigned
